Roi spent his military service in the IDF serving as a tailor for camouflage and concealment products for the elite Sayeret Matkal special forces unit. There, he came to realize the large role that the concept of "first impressions" plays in his professional and private life. As a fashion
design student, his preoccupation with questions regarding first impressions did not disappear, only evolved. Fashion has always been used as a tool to assign cultural, socioeconomic, political and gender categories to the wearer. In his final project, Roi examines the concept of
camouflage and asks whether clothes are affected by the world of camouflage and vice versa, and whether fashion often create a first impression that “irons out” the identity of the wearer and fails to allow them to truly express themselves and forge an individual identity? The color palette and materials combine different worlds; military camouflage, thick knits and rigid fabrics meet contrasting colors and textures to escape easy categorization. This collection aims to sow confusion and doubt, challenging the idea of the first impression.

את שירותי הצבאי העברתי כתופר של מוצרי הסוואה והסתרה בסיירת מטכל. שם הבנתי כמה המושג ״רושם ראשוני״ הוא חלק משמעותי מהחיים המקצועיים והפרטיים שלי. כסטודנט לעיצוב אופנה, העיסוק שלי בעולם הרושם הראשוני לא נעלם, רק השתנה.
מראשיתה ועד היום, אופנה משמשת ככלי שבעזרתו ניתן לקטלג את הלובש ולשייך אותו תרבותית, כלכלית, פוליטית, מגדרית ועוד. בפרויקט הגמר שלי בדקתי את המושג הסוואה ושאלתי האם בגדים מושפעים מעולם ההסוואה וההיפ - והאם אופנה לא פעם, יוצרת רושם ראשוני שמשטיח את זהותו של הלובש וחוטאת למטרתה לאפשר ללובש ביטוי ויצירת זהות אינדיבידואלית ?
קולקציית הגברים, מציגה צבעוניות וחומריות המגיעים מערבוב עולמות תוכן שונים, ההסוואה הצבאית עם סריגים עבים, אריגים קשיחים פוגשים חומריות וצבעוניות ניגודית במטרה להקשות על שיוך לעולם תוכן מוגדר אחד.
מטרת הקולקציה לשדר אווירה מבלבלת, שמטילה ספק במושג ״רושם ראשוני״.
